Kai Shin Digital Infrastructure Inc. has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU), dated the end of August 2026, with Kraftia Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Fukuoka City) on collaboration in the AI data center project in Satsumasendai City.
Under the MOU, Kraftia will support Kai Shin's discussions and coordination as technical advisor to the project, and the parties will consider Kraftia's participation as an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) partner for certain works. The parties also agreed that Kraftia will procure, build, own and operate the extra-high-voltage substation facilities for the project and establish a framework to supply electricity to the data center through power purchase agreements with the Kyushu Electric Power group and others. Together, by partnering with a Kyushu-based company well versed in the practical aspects of power and engineering, the two companies will accelerate the early opening of an AI data center premised on decarbonized power and the development of infrastructure rooted in the region.
